Yves Marie Allain was born in Plouha, near Saint Brieuc, C�tes du Nord 28 July 1851. His father was No�l Allain (aged 28 at time of Yves birth) - a sailor ("matelot") - and his mother was Fran�oise Tr�hiou (born Pludual. Aged 31 at time of Yves birth. Her father was Fran�ois Tr�hiou. She died in Plouha.
Yves married Marie Fran�oise H�lary (born 30 August 1854),a 'cuttirateur' (?), in Plouha on 11 September 1875. Her father was YvesH�lary, labourer, born in Pl�guieu. The Allain family left the village of Plouha, C�tes du Nord (now C�tes d'Armor), Brittany, and moved to Guernsey (sometime between 1891 & 1900). Yves worked as a labourer in Guernsey.
Many families left Plouha for Guernsey during that time, as there was little work there. (The majority that left moved to Canada and the United States)
At that time there was a large French community in Guernsey. Most of them worked as farm or quarry labourers, or had stalls at the town markets - many of them lived

SPAN is PS122’s annual discussion series based around theory and practice, the role of criticism and collaborative relationship forming within the ecosystem of the New York City performance industry. The two events of SPAN 2015 will be an Open Space and a Conversation/Mixer.
People from all industry backgrounds and walks of life are invited to participate, debate and relate to one another. Productive conversations are always fueled by libations – there will be plenty on hand.
